Breaking Free
A Journey from Survival to Healing

The silent struggles from UNHEALED childhood trauma.

Imagine a world where your sense of self is shattered, where the very foundation of your being is built on a fragile framework of fear and isolation. This is the story of countless adults, silently battling the echoes of childhood trauma that refuse to fade away.

Behaviours etched by unhealed wounds create a life script that reads like a tragedy, featuring fixing others, people-pleasing, co-dependency, and the constant need for external validation. It's a journey that often leads to abusive relationships, self-loathing, and a perpetual state of high alert.

But here's a call to action, not just for the broken-hearted, but for all of us to recognize these signs in ourselves and others:

Some of the behaviours of unresolved childhood trauma, both in the child and the adult after.

  • Fixing others

  • People-pleasing

  • Self-loathing

  • Self-harm/Suicidal tendencies

  • Co-dependency

  • Living on high alert

  • Abusive tendencies

  • Anger

  • Constant need for external validation

  • Fear of abandonment

  • Deprioritizing own needs

  • Need to prove oneself

  • Tolerance of abusive behaviour

  • Attracting narcissistic partners

  • Difficulty setting boundaries

  • Self-critical

  • Addictions

  • Self-doubt

The untold power of the importance of early years.

A staggering 96% of our adult selves are formed in the first six years of our lives. It's a time when we absorb the world around us like sponges, unknowingly internalizing beliefs that shape our very existence.

The story I share here is not a work of fiction but a poignant reality. In 1971, a 25-year-old mother of three, with limited English and a heart full of dreams, moved to England from Türkiye. What followed was a life-altering journey for her eldest child, a journey of isolation, fear, and the quest for survival.

The lonely path of a young soul.

Imagine being the only foreigner in a South London school, struggling to communicate, longing for acceptance. Picture a child, forced into a role of responsibility far beyond her years, cooking, cleaning, overseeing the care of a younger sibling while her mother worked tirelessly as a seamstress.

The struggle to fit in, to be seen as 'normal,' led to a cascade of behaviours that would shape her future. The fear of standing out, of not being enough, haunted her every step. Happiness was a foreign concept, and survival became the only goal.

A glimpse into the journey.

Fast forward to today, and this survivor stands as a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. From a childhood defined by scarcity and limitations, she emerged victorious, rewriting the script of her life. Yet, the scars of the past linger, as success and abundance trigger an unexpected fear within – the fear of failure, the fear that "people like us" don't deserve happiness, as this was the narrative she grew up hearing.

The call to healing.

Today, she extends a hand to those who resonate with her story. A plea to recognize the patterns, to break the chains of silent suffering. Healing isn't a solo journey; it's a collective effort.

Let's not forget the power of our inner child, the one who still whispers doubt and fear. Acknowledge, nurture, and love that vulnerable part of you. Seek help, not just from those who've walked a similar path but from trained professionals who can guide you toward true healing.

Remember, asking for help is not a weakness; it's a strength. The story is not over – it's a journey from survival to thriving, a journey that begins with the courage to share, to be vulnerable, and to heal.

This is a call to rewrite our stories, to break free from the shackles of the past, and to

step into a future filled with self-love, resilience, and boundless potential.

Most importantly it is to stop generational trauma from being the story of generations to come..
